Biography
My name is Raghed Waked, and I’m a 26-year-old photojournalist, filmmaker, photographer, and video editor. For over seven years, my journey has been marked by a deep commitment to visual storytelling. From capturing Lebanon’s vibrant nightlife to documenting the intense realities of conflict, I’ve devoted myself to mastering photography. My black-and-white portfolio, featured on Instagram, showcases how monochrome images can emphasize raw emotions and stark realities by stripping away distractions and focusing on the essence of each scene.
I have worked with prominent news agencies like AL Jazeera English, El Pais, & De Volkskrant often covering intense situations with news agencies to bring crucial stories to the public. Over the past four years, I’ve documented some of Lebanon’s biggest parties and events with artists like Mayyas, Omar Diab, Kazem El Saher, Keinemusik, and Adriatique.
My photographs have been published in esteemed outlets such as BBC, DJ Mag, and L’Orient-Le Jour, allowing my work to reach a global audience. In addition to my journalism, I’ve been involved in major film productions, refining both my creative and technical skills.
